WONDERFUL! Art Research Program – Maria Manetti and Jan Shrem Foundation
Artericambi Gallery is delighted to announce that Agnese Galiotto is among the four female artists and the artist awarded in the second edition of WONDERFUL! Art Research Program – Maria Manetti and Jan Shrem Foundation, promoted by Museo Novecento in Florence with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Metropolitan City of Florence, and the municipalities of Castelfiorentino, Empoli, Montelupo Fiorentino, Scandicci, and Vinci.
From over 140 applications received from across Italy, after a careful review of the portfolios by director Sergio Risaliti and the Museo Novecento team composed of Stefania Rispoli and Eva Francioli, with the support of artist Francesca Banchelli, the final selection of awardees was made:
· Mara Callegaro (Varese, 1994)
· Beatrice Celli (L’Aquila, 1992)
· Agnese Galiotto (Chiampo, 1996)
· Aronne Pleuteri (Erba, 2001)
· Virginia Russolo (Oderzo, 1995)
The four female artists and the artist who will begin their residency in the recently renovated Ex-Leopoldine complex will experience a unique opportunity for those working in the field of visual and performing arts, engaging with the partner municipalities of this edition of the program, selected on the basis of the cultural and productive characteristics of their respective territories: Scandicci for the connection between art and fashion, Montelupo Fiorentino for ceramics, Empoli for glass, Vinci for science, and Castelfiorentino for performativity.
Thanks to the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the awardees will also have the chance to spend one month at an international venue of the Italian Cultural Institutes network.
With this program, Museo Novecento and its institutional partners reaffirm their commitment to supporting new generations of artists, fostering an open dialogue between the local territory, the community, and international artistic research.
Residencies at Museo Novecento are conceived as a period of immersive study, research, and production in a city that for centuries has been a crucible of ideas, a home for artists, and a source of inspiration for professional and creative growth. An opportunity to enrich Florence with new energies and to foster dialogue with diverse cultural and productive contexts.
During the residency, the artists will take part in studio visits and will periodically attend lectures, workshops, and meetings with architects, curators, gallerists, artists, communicators, designers, restorers, scholars, and many other professionals, in synergy with the Museum’s scientific and exhibition program.
