MEDIATIONS BIENNALE is presently the largest visual art event in Central Europe and the only one of its kind in Poland. Its central European location, at the crossroads of many cultures, allows it to assume a role of a mediator between Asia and Europe. The geographical location of Poland, at the meeting point of the two continents, has stimulated the development of this unique cultural perspective, different to the postcolonial one of Western Europe.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A long tradition of mediations, laying foundations for MEDIATION BIENNALE, goes back to the year 1989 when a conference and series of international exhibitions entitled Civilisation and Culture took place in Pozna\u0144. Over the years, it has become an important mark in many Polish and international calendars of art events, thus attracting world famous curators and art critics, as well as the most distinguished international artists. 2012 Mediations Biennale continues the heritage of exhibitions, which, in a variety of ways, talk about all that is unknowable and spiritual in art.
